Tata Communications & Streamonix MoU

Tata Communications (America) Inc. and Streamonix, Inc. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development, deployment and testing of a next-generation, real-time streaming pilot project.

This pilot project will be based on Streamonix’s Media Streaming Federation™ (MSF) technology and will feature MSF streaming systems deployed in Tata Communications’ US network to transmit live HD, 4K and 8K video to test users.

The pilot project will demonstrate the ultra low-latency, ultra high bit-rate streaming capability of Streamonix technology and its suitability as the foundation for global-scale, real-time streaming applications such as live sports and entertainment, distance education, remote surgery and emergency alerting. A crucial goal of the project is to explore the use of Streamonix’s technology combined with Tata Communications’ networks for delivering the evolving mix of real-time media payloads that will form the essential elements of the Metaverse. A further goal is to demonstrate Streamonix’s Glass-to-Glass™ technology that creates virtual links between camera lenses and user screens for enhanced video display and enriched user experience.
